{daily gems}

A while back I signed up to get daily gems sent to me by email. I always look forward to reading them. They inspire me. They give me that extra boost I need when I am struggling. My daily gem today…

What God Has Given Us…

"Our Father in Heaven has given us, His children, much more than any mortal mind can comprehend. Under His direction the Great Jehovah created this wondrous world we live in. God the Father watches over us, fills our hearts with breathtaking joy, brightens our darkest hours with blessed peace, distills upon our minds precious truths, shepherds us through times of distress, rejoices when we rejoice, and answers our righteous petitions."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Love of God," Ensign, Nov. 2009, 22

Honestly, what else do we need? That says it all for me.

How blessed we are despite our difficulties! Yesterday I came across this blog. This woman is amazing. I just sobbed as I read her story and some of her entries. She is an inspiration to me and to many others I am sure. Go check it out, but have a tissue ready! (Thanks Sienna, I found this through your blog)

As I think of her and of all the people in the world who are suffering, and the good people of Haiti, my heart just aches for them. I can't even imagine. It’s overwhelming to think of, and I feel so powerless to be able to do something…anything. My institute teacher told us what we could do for these people…and it was so obvious, yet sometimes forgotten…and that is pray for them. He said to pray that they will be at peace, pray that they will feel and know all those things God can do for them despite what they are going through and what they have to deal with. He said that miracles will happen as we do so. Wow. There really is power in every humble prayer.

Anyways, just thought I’d share. I hope your all doing well and finding many beautiful "gems" in your day!

I know that website you are talking about. I've read it many times and cried too. I actually went to High School with Stephanie, she was a few years older than I so I didn't really know her. Her story is heartbreaking and inspirational.
