{D is for Delight}

Nephi says that his "soul delighteth in the things of the Lord." Even through some of the worst things imaginable, and what seems to me a very low point in his life (The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 4)... the many trials, heartaches, temptations, and challenges that he is constantly faced with, he still delights and rejoices. I think this must involve great gratitude, and seeing the Lords hand in his life. Like Nephi, I delight when I can look at my life and accept my trials as learning tools the Lord has provided for me, individually, that i know can shape and change me.

Finding at least one thing to delight in everyday helps me realize that i have much more to be thankful for than i realize.

Today “my soul delighteth” in:
Knowing I am loved by my Heavenly Father
My Savior who knows me & strengthens me
The Gospel that guides and gives me peace
The promptings of the Holy Ghost
My loving Family
Being a Mother and a Nurturer
The light in my daughters eyes
My Husband who makes me feel special & loved
The Priesthood that blesses our family
The Temple, a refuge from the storm
Knowing that families can be together forever
Christlike examples
Patience and Forgiveness
Prophets and their guidance
The beauty of the earth
Miracles, large and small

Seeing my daughter create something of her own and using her beautiful imagination…
So delightful.
